Our Wines – Winery and Wine Cellar Marqués de Puntalarga

Opus Culturae et Scientiae Qualitatis Vinum Nostrum Est – The Cultural Work and Scientific Quality of Our Wine

We offer several categories and classes of wine that more than fulfill the most stringent requirements of the European Union, Guaranteed Geographical Origin, equivalent to the “VQPRD,” Quality Wine Produced in Specific Regions.

Spoiled by the light, shades and hues such as those found in the Valle del Sol, hopefully the vine teaches us through the colors, aromas and flavors of wine, about what is illuminated and what is darkened, bringing together news of days gone by and that which we live today, giving us clues about the spirit of Puntalarga from its craftsmanship of fine furniture to the elegant atmosphere of the Inn.

MQR 2002

Pinot Noir Rubí Valle del Sol

Varietal 100%. Made from grapes produced by strains brought from Burgundy, France, these grapes have been selected and acclimatized since 1984, at the Puntalarga Vineyard. Ruby-red in color with intense and brilliant garnet reflections, this wine has an intense aroma with notes of red fruits – especially raspberries, violets and smoky branches. Its body is soft but full, with a marked acidity but balanced. In the retronasal, the wine is clean and very persistent, with flavors of red berries, myrtle, the unusual exotic cedar wood of the Andes, and smoky.  It is truly a great wine.

Riesling Blanca Valle del Sol

Varietal 100%. Made from grapes produced by strains brought from the Rhine Valley, Germany, these grapes have been selected and acclimatized since 1984, at the Puntalarga Vineyard. Pale-golden in color with green hues and bright this wine has an intense perfume, combining fine notes of peaches with other aromas reminiscent of ripe passion fruit and eucalyptus flowers. It has a superb body, which elegantly delivers the rich aroma associated with well-balanced acidity typical of the varietal. In the retronasal, one gets the impression of only the best grapes, from which this wine is made.

Riesling Becker Valle del Sol

Varietal 100%. Made from grapes produced by strains brought from the Rhine Valley, Germany, these grapes have been selected and acclimatized since 1984, at the Puntalarga Vineyard. This is a cross of Riesling Silvaner, the work of the late-Professor Helmut Becker of the Geisenheim Research Center in the Rhine Valley, Germany. A very nice pale-golden yellow in color, this wine has an intense aroma with scents reminiscent of both regional fruits and flowers as well as the gardens throughout the Rhine Valley. The body is elegant and satiny, with mild acidity and a pleasant retronasal.

Pinot Noir Coral Valle del Sol

Made from grapes produced by strains brought from Burgundy, France, these grapes have been selected and acclimatized since 1984, at the Puntalarga Vineyard. A pale rose in color with bright coral and  garnet reflections, this wine has an intense aroma with notes of red fruits – especially raspberries, violets and smoky branches. Its body is soft but full, with a marked acidity but balanced. In the retronasal, the wine is clean and very persistent, with flavors of red berries, myrtle, the unusual exotic cedar wood of the Andes, and smoky.  It is truly a great wine.
